A series of metrics have been developed to help track the progress of data that has been published and used within the California Natural Resources Agency Open Data Platform. These metrics are intended to capture the progress of data that has been published and accessed to the platform over time. Metrics allow for citizens and data stewards to understand the success of CNRA’s open data initiatives and evaluate opportunities for continued growth. Information on datasets and resources has been collected from the CKAN environment that powers the Open Data Platform. This information helps understand the data that has been published and made available through the website. This is combined with website usage statistics collected from the Google Analytics API to help understand trends and patterns with site, dataset, and individual resources usage.
